Entrepreneurs are known for innovation. They come up with new ideas and business concepts, develop new products, and launch startup businesses with high hopes of making a profit.
Most successful businesses we see today came from humble beginnings.
Many were started by someone with just an idea, a big dream, and the desire to make their ideas and dreams come true. Check out 5 Famous Businesses That Started In a Garage.
When I think of successful entrepreneurs I think of people like Steve Jobs, John Paul DeJoria, Richard Branson, and Tony Hsieh. These people have all started and grown numerous companies that have been amazingly successful.
So, what’s the one thing these people and all the other successful entrepreneurs have in common?
They aren’t afraid of failure. In fact, they embrace it.
Many times we don’t want to take risks because we’re afraid of failing. However, when you look at the track record of successful entrepreneurs you will see that failure was a BIG part of their journey to the top.
Here’s an interesting statistic for you…
“The average entrepreneur fails 3.8 times before he or she finally makes it in business.” –John Maxwell, Failing Forward
Successful entrepreneurs don’t crush it their first time up to bat…on average they fail almost 4 times before hitting one out of the park.
What separates those who have had great success from everyone else is that they are more open to taking risks in order to succeed. They don’t know how things will work out, no one does, but this doesn’t stop them.
They take calculated risks in order to achieve their goals…that’s why they succeed.
“If we could think of failing as a path towards success, then I think we would all be better off.” -John Krumboltz, Fail Fast Fail Often
Entrepreneurs are open to taking risks, even if it means they might fail. If they do fail, they learn from their mistakes, make changes, move on, and try again.
When you’re taking any risk in life, recognize that it’s okay to fail. You’re going to make mistakes…BIG mistakes. But that’s ok!
Failure is just a part of life. It’s part of the journey to success.
The real risk is not trying! Consider the price of not taking action. One day you will look back on your life and wonder what would have happened if you had given it a shot.
Don’t let that happen to you. Be open to taking risks…That’s the only way you will succeed!
Remember this…No risk, no reward!
If you do fail, just remember even the greatest entrepreneurs in the world fail 3.8 times before succeeding.
Be open to taking risks, step outside your comfort zone, and be willing to fail!
What’s keeping you from going after your dreams? Are you afraid of taking risks? Are you afraid of failing?
